If you are struggling with getting the motivation to do something now (cleaning the dishes) that you don't haaaaave to do (aka no immediate consequences) you can think about your future self in order to get some motivation.
How will future me feel tomorrow morning if there are dirty dishes?
How will future me feel if I do the dishes now?
